Real Madrid confirmed once again why they are the top team in the world
Real Madrid defeated FC Barcelona 2-1 and is supreme leader in La Liga.
Real Madrid proved once again that when they wear their white crown, no one can take it away from them. The "Queen of Europe" with 15 Champions League titles to their name, defeated Barcelona 2-1 at the "Santiago Bernabeu", in a Clasico that felt more like a show of strength than a derby between equal opponents.
With Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham forming an inimitable duo of creation and execution, Real dominated against the Catalans, who seemed to suffocate under the pressure and pace of the home team.
Xabi Alonso, in his first Clasico as a coach, won the duel of the benches and became the first since Zinedine Zidane to win on his Clasico debut. The Basque coach set up a team with balance, intensity and discipline — and this was primarily evident in the defensive duo of the center, where Tchouameni and Camavinga played an almost flawless game. The former cut and created with precision, was everywhere on the field, while the latter offered energy, coverage and the first pass that set the pace in every transition.
Real entered with intensity and the will to “suffocate” Barcelona. Mbappe opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after a magical assist from Bellingham, defeating the duo of Eric Garcia and Kubarsi. It was the French star's 12th goal against the Catalans, confirming that this is their absolute nightmare.
Barcelona temporarily found an answer in the 38th minute, when Fermin Lopez took advantage of a mistake in the "merengues"' development and equalized at 1-1. However, Real had the mentality of a team that knows how to "kill" the moment: in the 43rd minute, Brazilian international central defender Militao headed in from a set piece and Jude Bellingham scored from close range to make it 2-1, sealing the lead before half-time.
In the second half, the Madrid team managed the game with maturity. Polish goalkeeper Szczesny saved Barcelona in the 53rd minute, saving Mbappe's penalty, but Real Madrid did not panic. With Tchouameni and Camavinga extinguishing any attempt by their opponents to organize an attack, the home team maintained complete control.
Vinicius left in the 72nd minute with tension towards the bench, but the team's pace never dropped. In the final, Pedri was sent off with a second yellow card and Barcelona finished the match with ten players, in a match that ended with tension, nerves and shouting - a common phenomenon when Real Madrid reminds us of who they are.
For the "Queen", this victory is not just a Clasico victory; it is a declaration of dominance. With Alonso showing that he can continue the tradition of the club's great coaches and with a team that is young, talented and mature, Real Madrid look stronger than ever.
The five-point gap to Barcelona in La Liga is the first sign. The second, and more significant, is that Real are playing with an aura of invincibility again. And when that happens, the rest of the football world just... watches.
