List of portuguese national team's trip to Qatar for the World Cup 2022

Portugal National Football Team

Fernando Santos finally reserved only one surprise on his list for the Portuguese national team's trip to Qatar for the World Cup. He left out Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanchez from the "26" players he will take with him. Dominant name of course on the list is that of Cristiano Ronaldo, who may be in his 37th year of age, but is still indispensable.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner will be the only striker over the age of 30 in the Iberian squad, which features a decent generational change with the call-up of talented AC Milan midfielder Rafael Leao (23) and Benfica centre-forward , Goncalo Ramos (21).

However, there is also renewal in its defensive line, with the first call-up of the 19-year-old footballer - revelation of Benfica, Antonio Silva.

On the contrary, Liverpool striker Diogo Jota (injured) and midfielder Joao Moutinho were not called, since his performance at Wolves so far at least has not been at a good level.

Portugal, who are in Group 8 of the World Cup alongside Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea, will play a friendly against Nigeria before the trip to Qatar.

The list of 26 "chosen" of Fernando Santos.
