Yamal made a big splash at Barcelona's party against german team in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals held at Montjuic.

Lamine Yamal great star of FC Barcelona in his victory against Borussia Dortmund.

The 17-year-old (born 13/7/2007) Lamine Yamal made a big splash at Barcelona's party against Borussia Dortmund (4-0) in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals  held at Montjuic. Flick's team threw a party in Barcelona with Dortmund as their guest, where the front three... raged at the expense of the German defense. The Catalans met no resistance against Niko Kovac's Dortmund team, which they defeated 4-0 with Lewandowski, Yamal, Rafinha and Fermín in excellent form.

The “blaugrana” opened the scoring in the 25th minute, when Fermin  executed the free kick, the stopper Inigo Martinez headed the ball at the far post and Pau Cubarsi managed to project the ball towards the opponent’s goal and the Brazilian winger Rafinha managed to touch the ball before it crossed the line, putting the home team in the lead.

The Catalans scored a second goal in the 48th minute with the Polish forward, Robert Lewandowski, heading the ball into the net after a turn, again with his head, by Rafinha after a nice dig of the ball by Yamal.

Barcelona continued at the same pace and increased the score to 3-0 in the 66th minute with Lewandowski scoring again, this time with a right-footed shot on the move after a turn by young midfielder Fermin Lopez from the right.

The… cherry on top for the Catalans was put in the 77th minute by young winger Yamal, who scored perfectly after a counterattack and a vertical ball from Rafinha.

Thus, Barcelona has one foot in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League and wants to seal qualification for the second leg next Tuesday (15/04, 22:00) at Signal Iduna Park in Westphalia.

Yamal is amazing

In the end, young Lamine Yamal was once again adored by thousands of Barcelona fans.  Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana (born 13 July 2007)  is  widely regarded as one of the best young footballers in the world. A product of La Masia  Barcelona's youth academy, Yamal made his first-team debut in 2023, aged 15. He quickly established himself as an integral player for Barcelona, being awarded the Kopa Trophy the following year.

Yamal has represented Spain internationally at various youth levels, and made his debut for the senior team in 2023, becoming the youngest player to represent and score for the country at age 16. He was selected for Euro 2024, playing an important role in helping Spain win their fourth title, while also winning the tournament's Young Player Award. A left-footed forward with excellent passing, and chance-creating abilities, Yamal is able to play either as a center forward, an attacking midfielder or a winger, notably on the right flank. As a right winger, the majority of the time he likes to play with his left foot; he also has the ability to curve the ball to the post. His ability to produce accurate crosses with the outside of his foot (known as a trivela) has become one of the trademarks of his game.

Yamal had a notable performance in the Euro 2024, scoring a goal against France in the semi-finals and providing 4 assists against several teams, including Croatia, Georgia , Germany, , and England. In this tournament, Yamal showcased his proficiency in creating chances by putting crosses towards the far-post and also his shot-taking and curling ability from distance.

With his technical profile, Yamal was compared to former Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi, like many La Masia products before him. Yamal has also cited former Barcelona player Neymar as a major influence on his own playing style. Broke Lionel Messi's 2007 dribbling record by completing 11 successful dribbles (out of 21 attempts) in a match against Alavés, surpassing Messi’s 10/20 in 2007.
