Richest teams that will not appear in Europe in the 2026-27 season
Chelsea tops the list of the top 10 teams with large financial resources that will not be playing in Europe next season.
Chelsea top a...unpleasant list of expensive clubs that failed to secure a place in the 2026/27 European competitions.
With an estimated value of
1.16 billion euros, Chelsea could not finish higher than
10th
place in
Premier League (they lost 2-1 to Sunderland on the last matchday). And now the American consortium led by
Todd Boely is running and not reaching to fix what they can for the new season.
Tottenham, with the Italian coach, Roberto De Zerbi, survived relegation on the last matchday and finished 17th despite the value of their team at 802.5 million euros.
Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Fulham and Everton also make up the rest of the English Premier League, while Crystal Palace will be saved from 15th place, as they will qualify for the UEFA Europa League if they win the Conference League on Wednesday (27/5).
They are joined by Eintracht Frankfurt from the Bundesliga with a team value of €388.5m and Strasbourg from Ligue 1 with €361.9m.
But there is also the flip side. Getafe, with a total value of €82.9m, have the lowest team value of any club to qualify for Europe from the top five leagues after pulling off a surprise seventh-place finish in LaLiga.
The 10 most expensive teams that failed to qualify for the 2026-27 European competitions:
Team Position Market Value
1. Chelsea 10 €1.16 billion
2. Tottenham 17 803 million
3. Newcastle 12 708
4. Nottingham Forest 16 568
5. Crystal Palace 15 541
6. Brentford 9 470
7. Everton 13 450
8. Eintracht Frankfurt 8 389
9. Fulham 11 387
10. RC Strasbourg 8 362
