Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the second semi-final at home, at the Parc des Princes, and booked their place in the Champions League final for the second time in their history, this time against Inter Milan.

Since Paris was taken over by Qatari owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi, they have had one dream. ! A dream that in recent years has become... an obsession. After all, they had tried everything in Paris. First, they had bought Neymar's release clause by giving 222 million euros to Barcelona in 2017. Then they took the famous Lionel Messi from the same team, while they also had Kylian Mbappe. ! But their team failed to achieve its great goal. So in the summer of 2024, when its coach, Luis Enrique, no longer had any of the highly paid stars, he put a lot of effort into creating a TEAM: And he succeeded to the absolute extent. He created a Team that offered attractive football and also got the results he wanted. And this happened on Wednesday night (7/5) at the packed “Park Des Princes” (it proved to be too small for such a game). Paris defeated Arsenal by defeating them 2-1 (it had also prevailed 1-0 in London) and set up a date with the Italian team, Inter on May 31 at the “Allianz Arena” in Munich in the Champions League final. Which is now its big goal.

The Parisians opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a thunderbolt from the height of the Spanish left-footed midfielder Fabian Ruiz from the height of the penalty area that left no room for reaction for his compatriot, the visitors' goalkeeper, Raya. The Gunners tried to react but again the Italian goalkeeper of Paris, Gianluigi Donnarumma was a Cerberus under his posts. He neutralized every threat.

In the 66th minute, the German referee  Felix Zwayer , after doing an on-field review, awarded a penalty in favor of the hosts, for a handball by Lewis-Skelly on a shot by Hakimi. Vitinha took the shot, but Raya fell to his left corner and cleared the ball for a corner, keeping Arsenal upright.

Hakimi scored

The home team scored a second goal, with Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi in the 72nd minute with a wonderful shot inside the area after a pass from Dembele.

The “Gunners” did not give up and managed to reduce the deficit with a close shot from the English international winger Saka in the 76th minute.

However, the score did not change until the final whistle and thus Paris Saint-Germain doubled their victories against Arsenal and got their ticket to the Champions League final for the second time in their history…

The road to the final

Inter Milan secured first place for Munich by eliminating Barcelona and on Wednesday night (7/5) it was Paris Saint-Germain's turn to seal their ticket to this year's Champions League final, with the French champions beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Parc des Princes (they had won 1-0 at the Emirates in the first leg) and set up a meeting with the Milanese at the Allianz Arena.
