Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool in the summer
The Egyptian player announced his departure from the club of his life
Mohamed Salah and Liverpool will not continue together. The Egyptian winger will leave the "Reds" in the summer.
Mo Salah is not happy at Liverpool. And he could not continue in the team of his heart. The Egyptian left-footed winger made the big decision and will say goodbye to the Reds in the summer. The glass had been cracked since last year, but this year... it broke and will not stick again. The 34-year-old footballer was looking for a way to find his old good self again. But he himself thought that it would be better to leave last year's English champion.
The club confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the Egypt international to leave Anfield in the summer, although his existing contract (which he signed last year) was valid until the summer of
2027.

Egyptian star Salah will leave Liverpool as one of the most successful footballers in their history, having won eight trophies (including two Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2019) and is third in the club's all-time top scorers list with 255 goals.
In doubt
Salah's future had been in doubt after an explosive interview he gave when he was left on the bench without playing in the 3-3 draw against Leeds in December 2025. It was the third consecutive game in which he was not selected by Dutch coach Arne Slott. The Egyptian winger said he felt “thrown out of the team” and that his relationship with Slott had broken down.
He even left open the possibility of leaving in January, while also claiming that he had become a scapegoat for Liverpool’s problems this season. Salah was then left out of the squad for the Champions League match against Inter Milan, which the English team won 1-0.
However, Salah rejoined Liverpool after this year’s Copa Africa and has started 13 of the club’s games since 21 January.
“With so much still at stake this season, Salah remains absolutely committed to Liverpool achieving the best possible result until the end of the year. The moment to fully honour his legacy and achievements will come later this year, when he bids farewell to Anfield,” the club said in a statement.
Unique record
According to the latest statistics, the Egypt international has now contributed to 281 goals (189 goals and 92 assists) in 310 appearances for the Reds.
This milestone surpasses all previous records for goal contributions by a player for a single club in Premier League history.
His agent
Meanwhile,
Mohamed Salah’s agent has made it clear that there is no decision yet on where the Egyptian will play next year. Of course, everyone is wondering what the next stop in Mo's career will be, with international reports reporting that MLS and Saudi Arabia seem to be the most popular destinations. But Salah's agent was quick to set the tone. In a post on social media,
Rami Abbas Issa clarified that
"we don't know where Mohamed will play next year, which means no one else does. Beware of those who are looking for clicks and attention."
