Kylian Mbappé has confirmed his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, this evening

The end of the transfer saga is approaching: superstar Kylian Mbappé has confirmed his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. In an emotional video message, the 2022 vice world champion and 2018 world champion addressed his fans via social media.

"I have always said that I will speak when the time comes," Mbappé explained. "And that's why I hereby inform you all that this is my last season for Paris Saint-Germain. I will not be extending. The adventure ends in a few weeks."

Mbappé said he would play his last home game in the Prinzenpark on Sunday against FC Toulouse. "It will be very emotional. For many years I had the honor of being part of one of the biggest clubs in France, one of the best in the world."

There was always a lot of pressure, "I grew as a player because of it," said Mbappé. "I played alongside some of the greatest players of all time, alongside the greatest champions. I met a lot of people and grew as a person. I celebrated successes and of course I made mistakes too."

Move to Real Madrid? Kylian Mbappé is keeping a low profile

He thanked all his teammates during his time at PSG and all his coaches as well as those responsible and all other employees of the club. "All these incredible people always give everything for the club and deserve this attention. Although there is a lot of unrest in the environment and the media, there are some who really love the club and want to protect it. The club is in good hands," said Mbappé .

It was “very, very hard” for him to announce that he was leaving his French homeland. “But I need a new challenge after seven years,” emphasized Mbappé. He also explicitly thanked the fans. "I'm not the most open player, but I tried to live up to the love you gave me over these seven years."

Mbappé is about to move to Spain's record champions Real Madrid. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed. In the video, the 25-year-old did not explicitly comment on which club he is now drawn to.
