Bremer new player of Juventus Turin

Juventus defense has been significantly strengthened by the signing of Gleyson Bremer, who on Thursday (20/07) signed a contract with the "Bianconeri" until the summer of 2027, effectively replacing Matthias de Ligt at the back of the "Old  Lady". His transfer will cost the old lady the sum of 40 million euros plus some bonuses.

Born in 1997 in Itapitanga, Brazil, Gleyson Bremer Silva Nascimento, as his full name is, possesses great physical strength, keen positional sense, excellent tackling and is very good in the high game.

In the above it is worth noting that although he plays in the center of defense, he also has scoring appeal having scored 13 goals in his three seasons in Italy, 11 of them in Serie A, a record for a stopper during this period.

Bremer began his career in Brazil, coming through the ranks of Desportivo Brasil before moving to the Sao Paulo academy. He made his first-team debut in 2017 with Atlético Mineiro and in 2018 signed for Torino, making 110 appearances for the Granata, 105 as a starter.

In those three years he emerged as one of the best defenders in the Italian league, winning the MVP award from Lega Serie A as the best defender of the 2021/2022 season.

Last season he was the player who made the most interceptions (105) in Europe's top five leagues and the defender who won possession most often (284 times) and won 217 duels (132 aerials) in the league.

The centre-back also led the way across Europe's top five leagues for interceptions (105), averaging 3.3 per 90 minutes.

Bremer will hope to get his first taste of Serie A action for Juve when Allegri's side start their league campaign at home to Sassuolo on August 15.
