The Premier League has very close to a new major an agreement which will bring new revenue to the world's top league

The Premier League

The management of the Premier League led by Alison Brittain who officially took up her duties on 3rd January 2023 and the chief executive Richard Masters, wanting to maintain its leading position against the other major European leagues is very close to a new major an agreement which will bring new revenue to the world's top league.

According to a Sky News report, at a meeting held on Saturday (11/20 , the 20 Premier League clubs were informed that the closure of a six-year partnership with video game producer Electronic Arts (EA) - producer of the historic FIFA football series - will brings an amount close to 500 million pounds (about 550 million euros) for the total duration of the agreement.

Doubling the income of the clubs

As such, the deal provides a consideration for the clubs of more than €90 million per season in total, which will guarantee that EA will remain a partner of the league and retain exclusivity for its video games.

If the deal goes through without any contingencies, it means the clubs are guaranteed a doubling of their income compared to the current contract.

In England this move is perceived as one of the "antidotes" against the European Super League. This deal is intertwined with the already announced divorce between EA and FIFA after 30 years of cooperation.

The series of video games called FIFA will continue, although it will change its name. The New York-listed video game company, which has a market value of around $30 billion, has been a premier partner of the Premier League since 2016.
