The 7th season in one team for Klopp is the most difficult and often relentless

The German coach lives his worst moment at Liverpool FC, just in his seventh season

Jurgen Klopp, head coach of Liverpool

The 7th season in whatever team Jurgen Klopp was somewhere was not going well. The German coach had produced excellent work at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, but in his seventh season with his two hometown clubs their run has been a nightmare. The same seems to be happening now in Liverpool... Some call it a coincidence, others that he is losing it somewhere...

It will certainly show as last year's season for Liverpool ended with two sides and a big question mark. On the one hand, he managed to claim every title to the end, after winning the EFL Cup and the FA Cup and fighting to the end for the league and the UEFA Champions League. On the other hand, in one of the best seasons with Jurgen Klopp, he didn't get any great prize that would fully redeem the effort he put in since the beginning of the year.

So the question was whether the team would be affected by this and whether the pace would drop in the new season, after a grueling year that reached the spring but did not drink… water. The answer to the question, after 31 official games, is that not only have Liverpool been affected, but it shows that they are in a very deep crisis and unable to get out of it.

The emphatic 3-0 defeat by Wolves highlighted once again the problems that have plagued Klopp's side since the start of the season. Bad mentality and preparation for such an important game as they conceded two goals in the first 12 minutes. Inability to aggressively rationalize development and mistakes not appropriate at this level. In addition, the defeat by the "wolves" continued negative records that follow the reds, apart from the 10th place that has brought them to -11 from the top four.

Certainly the poor image of the team is a reflection of the poor form of key players. The prolonged deformation of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and the Uruguayan Darwin Nunes continues. Dutch winger Cody Hakpo has yet to adapt to the new conditions, while injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have taken their toll.

At the same time, the departure of Sadio Mane is becoming more and more noticeable. Chief stopper Virgil Van Dijk is out for treatment and no one knows in what condition he will return. The alternatives of Matip and Joe Gomes fall into the same "childish" mistakes in almost every game.

Liverpool's defensive function is in a similar situation, culminating in the fact that in their last three away games in the league, they have conceded 3+ goals. First against Brentford (3-1), Brighton (3-0) and Wolves (3-0). Something similar has happened only once in the last 30 years, when in 1993 the "reds" had suffered two consecutive defeats and had a draw, conceding three goals in each game.

They were beaten 3-0 by Newcastle, lost 3-1 to Sheffield Wednesday and drew 3-3 with Tottenham. Apart from the other issues, one reason that has affected Liverpool's game is the accumulated fatigue from the arduous last few years.

In total, in the previous two seasons the reds gave 117 games and data, Gegenpressing, the famous pressure system implemented by Klopp is impossible to apply on the grass with duration and substance. "They asked me if it has anything to do with the 63 games we gave last year.

Yes, it played a part, but now it's February and for the last match we had a week to prepare. How long are we going to suffer from this?” added the German but maybe it's something that can't be changed.

The fact is that soon Klopp will have to proceed with face changes or the next few months will be even more difficult for everyone….

Arsenal failed to maintain the euphoric atmosphere that existed after the imposing 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Their tank was almost... empty, stuck at 1-1 against Brentford, and now Mikel Arteta's team seems to be raising the white flag in the championship battle!. Now Arsenal is turning its attention exclusively to the Champions League, where after the 3-0 win, it seems to have a big lead to qualify for the semi-finals of the top club competition in Europe, if not the world.
