“Oh là là” a Paris, steely Bayern
PSG defeated Bayern in a great match, full of scoring opportunities in the first leg of UEFA Champions League semifinals.
Hard metal in Paris! Paris and Bayern wrote one of the top rhapsodies of the UEFA Champions League, with the 5-4 emerging as the main winner football itself. There are games like that where you could've kept watching for another 3 hours. What a game for the ages. It's really brutal that one of the two has to play Atlético or Arsenal in the final. If it were football , then what are all the others playing? Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful games that have been played in European competitions since the day football appeared.
Circle the date because it will be a long time before we see a match like this again. Unless these two absolute spectacle machines come up with something special for the Munich rematch... Until then, the Paris match will be their own gift to the
God of football. And even if only one prevailed in the end! In the most productive semi-final in the history of the
UEFA Champions League, with nine goals, frenetic pace, emotions, substitutions, comebacks and reversals, Paris Saint-Germain defeated a Bayern made of steel
5-4 and took a step towards qualifying for the final in Budapest.
Football... bloody hell!
The match was entangled in an outrageous pace from the beginning and the goals rained down until the half-time that ended with a satisfying 3-2 in favor of the Parisians. The two teams played at speed, with the first goal essentially opening the Aeolus bag. In the 16th minute, Luis Diaz won a penalty from Pacho, with Harry Kane scoring from the white spot for 1-0. Moments later, Oliseh made it 2-0, but Marquinhos cleared the ball before it crossed the line, giving Paris the chance to equalize.
After Dembele missed a unique one-on-one in the 23rd minute, seconds later, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia moved wonderfully inside the area and with a terrific shot into the corner, equalized to 1-1. The ball went up and down and both teams constantly found space to threaten, with Bayern hitting the post in the 33rd minute after Michael Olise turned the ball in the area. However, 2-1 belonged to the Parisians. Shortly after Desire Doue's misfired shot that went inches wide of the post, Joao Neves headed in the corner and turned the match around in impressive fashion in the 34th minute.
Paris constantly found gaps with lightning-fast counterattacks, threatened again in the 37th minute with a sliding shot by Doue, but Bayern responded to make it 2-2. In the 41st minute, the active Michael Olise found space outside the area and with a powerful shot from high he beat Safonov, who did not have the best reaction. Everything indicated that the two teams would return to the locker room tied, but in the 45th minute + 5th minute Paris regained the lead. After a VAR indication, the referee awarded a penalty to Davies, with Dembele scoring from the white spot for 3-2.
Bayern of steel
Bayern's great dream of the treble is in serious danger after a historic, top-notch offensive spectacle.
And if anyone thought the two would slow down in the second half, they were terribly mistaken! It wasn't until the 56th minute that the ball appeared in Bayern's net again, when Hakimi turned the ball in the area for Kvaratskhelia, who executed it unhindered into Neuer's goal. On their way, the home team struck again two minutes later with Dembele scoring again, who left Manuel Neuer stunned with a low shot into the corner for 5-2. Somewhere there, it seemed that the scales had finally tipped in favor of Luis Enrique's team, but Bayern had not thrown in the towel.
In the 65th minute, Dayot Upamecano headed in a close-range header from Kimmich's free kick and three minutes later, the Bavarians cut the deficit again. Harry Kane played a superb through ball to Luis Diaz, who brought the ball down perfectly in the area and fired past Safonov to make it 5-4. At some point, the pace dropped to normal levels, but the drama prevailed until the final. In the 87th minute, Mayulu made it 6-4 by hitting the post with a powerful shot. In the return match next Wednesday, Bayern Munich's mental strength will need a home win to reach the final in Budapest on May 30. “It was a very, very intense game,” said Germany international Jonathan Tah on Prime Video: “Despite the defeat, we showed in many phases what kind of team we are. Anything is possible in the second leg.”
13th goal for Harry Kane
Harry Kane (17th, penalty) with his 13th Champions League goal was guaranteed, Michael Oliseh (41st), Dayot Upamecano (65th) and Luis Diaz (68th) were the successful ones for Bayern.
The match was historic for the institution, since the nine goals scored by the Parisians and Bavarians made the semi-final the one with the most goals in the history of the Champions League.
