Tuesday, September 17 will go down in history for Kenan Yildiz, the young man who introduced himself... for good to the football world! The 19-year-old Turkish attacking midfielder who has shown some very impressive writing in recent months has now made history in a Juventus shirt. In the first European match of his career, he opened the scoring against Eindhoven and became Juventus' youngest goalscorer at 19 years and 136 days. He surpassed the great Alessandro Del Piero who had scored his "maiden" goal in September 1995 when he was 20 years and 300 days old.

Yildiz's impressive goal, with a right-footed shot into the "opposite" corner, is a milestone for another reason: it is the first of the new Champions League, which from this year is held in a single group with the participation of 36 clubs.

Born in Germany to a Turkish father and a German mother, the tall attacking midfielder is also a genuine "wonderkid" along with his compatriot and peer Arda Güler. Except that he has never been through a Turkish club, but grew up in the academies of Bayern from where Juventus "grabbed" him in the summer of 2022.

He made his debut in Serie A last season and in December 2023, with the goal he scored against Frosinone, he became Juventus' youngest foreign scorer and on his debut as a starter! His rise in the first half of 2024 has been rapid resulting in him not just being included in the squad, but a key member of the Turkish national team at the EUROs in Germany.

At just 19, he looked ready to become the next leader of Juventus, something the Bianconeri people sensed. That is why recently, exactly one month ago (16/8), his contract was renewed until 2029. While he was given the jersey with the number "10" with all due ceremony. A movement with enormous symbolism, if we consider the giants who have worn it in the past: Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio, Alessandro Del Piero.

The future belongs to Kenan Yildiz.
