The relationship between Gyokeres and Sporting Lisbon is at an extreme
Arsenal and Manchester United have submitted offers to his team Sporting Lisbon, but the "lions" have not given the "green light" to complete the transfer.
The 25-year-old Swedish international forward Victor Gyokeres has had an amazing season. He led Sporting Lisbon to the double in Portugal and he became the second top scorer in all European championships (regardless of whether he scored the most goals, 39) as the Portuguese championship has a difficulty factor of 1.5. This puts him second only to Kylian Mbappe, who scored 32 goals. Now the Swedish forward is in demand.
We all know that Arsenal and Manchester United have submitted offers to his team Sporting, but the "lions" have not given the "green light" to complete the transfer.
In fact, what deserves special mention is the information coming from Lisbon that reveals that the relations between Gioceres and the Sporting management are not only not good but that the two sides are at… extremes.
THE CAUSE
The reason for the current situation? Gyokeres has not hidden that he wants to transfer to a Premier League team in order to compete in what is considered by many to be the top and certainly the most expensive championship in the world.
In fact, Gyokeres side believes that the Sporting management has breached the agreement they had made a few months ago. According to which the "lions" would allow the Swedish forward to leave without having to pay an interested team the amount of the clause.
CLOSE TO 100 MILLIONS
The clause in the player's contract with the Portuguese champions amounts to almost 100 million euros. And Gyokeres claims that Sporting's management had given him a clear promise.
That if there is a proposal of 70 million euros, they will give the "green light" to complete the transfer. We repeat that the team that wants him must give 60 of the 70 million euros in advance.
Gyokeres sees that the "Gunners" and United are making a great effort to acquire him. However, Sporting's management is not backing down in negotiations with the two English clubs.
So Gyokeres is "fire and fury", and has told Sporting's management that he is not prepared to tolerate a breach of the agreement.
In fact, according to the newspaper
Record, Sporting's management is now demanding almost 80 million euros to release the international forward, but it seems that neither the "gunners" nor United are willing to reach this amount. As can be easily understood, the 27-year-old international striker is "sitting on hot coals". He is waiting for developments and the truth is that the climate is "explosive" in the Portuguese team. The next few days are expected with great interest, as everything indicates that the landscape will clear up once and for all.
