The "Citizens" are top of the Premier League after beating Burnley with 5 games final remaining

The Citizens beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor to move level on 70 points with Arsenal, on the same goal difference but with a better attack.

 

City started the game in the best possible way, opening the scoring in just the 5th minute. After a counterattack from a Burnley corner, Doku received the ball in the centre of the area and found Erling Haaland, who, with a high pass, beat Dubravka to make it 1-0. .

 

Pep Guardiola's team dominated throughout the match, missing a number of chances, with the Burnley goalkeeper having an excellent day and the "citizens" being quite inaccurate in the final attempt, with Haaland also hitting the post in the 55th minute.

 

However, the hosts were harmless, Donnarumma's goal was not threatened at any time and City took an easy victory that brought them to the top of the Premier League.

"The chances were there. We created a lot. Make a fantastic game. We did everything. We had a demanding game three days ago. We played a really good game where we missed some goals. There’s no frustration. Why should there be frustration? We won three points. Of course we could do better in scoring goals but the guys did really well. The game was really well played in so many ways. Of course we could have scored more, but we take it".

 

He’s pressed to explain why this performance was so much less impressive than Sunday’s

 

"I completely disagree. Because we made a better performance in terms of chances than on Sunday. The performance was really, really good".
