Ancelotti is preparing for his debut in the technical leadership of the Brazilian national team where on Thursday, the "verdeoro" will visit Ecuador for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Carlo Ancelotti in his first training with Brazil in Rio de Janeiro

In Madrid he was "King Carlo". In Brazil, which welcomed him as the savior of the footballing homeland, "they already call me Carlinho. And I like it": in a climate of growing anticipation, Carlo Ancelotti is preparing for his debut in the technical leadership of the Brazilian national team where on Thursday, the "verdeoro" will visit Ecuador for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. With the aim of course of victory and nothing but victory but also of a good performance.

The Italian coach (the only one to have won a title in the 5 main European championships - Italy, England, Germany, France, Spain) in an interview with Vivo Azzurro TV, spoke about his career, starting from the last trip that took him from Madrid to Rio de Janeiro.

“Now another adventure begins, it is a great responsibility but also a great happiness to have the opportunity to coach the Brazilian national team. I have been welcomed with great love, I hope to prepare the team well and ensure that it is competitive in the next World Cup,” he said.

“Learning a new language will not be a problem: “I will have to study Portuguese as I had to study French, English, Spanish: the fact that Portuguese has the same grammar will help me.”

Sacchi’s student and his childhood….

Ancelotti pays tribute to Arrigo Sacchi, whose student-footballer he was at Milan and then assistant to the national team at the USA World Cup: “He was innovative, he brought something new to football on a tactical and methodological level. I worked with him for many years as a footballer and a coach. He was a very important teacher for me.”

Even before he gets on the pitch, the ability of a coach lies in knowing how to manage the team. A skill that cannot be learned in a classroom. And it is precisely one of the main qualities recognized in Ancelotti:

“I didn’t study it, I am made that way and I try to transfer my identity and my character to relationships with others. Character is formed with the teachers you had in childhood: your father, the teachers at school and the coaches. The coexistence between great champions depends on the individual intelligence of each one. Usually the great champion is serious, professional and works well. Management is not that complicated.”

According to Ancelotti, there is a thought about modern football, since the number of matches is excessive: "I believe that the federations, UEFA and FIFA must find a solution to maintain quality, but above all the health of the football players."
