Atletico Madrid's great move, they acquired Ademola Lookman

The Nigerian striker of English origin has signed for Atlético Madrid on a four-year contract. He is a versatile forward.

Ademola Lookman great sign of Atlético Madrid from Atalanta Bérgamo.

Atletico Madrid's management made an impressive move. Where everything showed that the international African striker, Ademola Lookman, is a...breath from Fenerbahce, the Spanish team succeeded and took him!

The Nigerian left winger had submitted a transfer request to the Atalanta management in order to leave Bergamo before the end of the winter market and his wish came true.

Although in the past it seemed almost certain that he would continue his career in Turkey for Fenerbahce, Atletico Madrid's extremely impressive action changed all the data.

The Spaniards submitted the same proposal as the Turks to Atalanta, namely the sum of 35 million euros for his acquisition and everyone was waiting to see what Lookman would say. In the end, the Nigerian preferred to move to Madrid and wear the red and white jersey.

On 1 February 2026, Atlético Madrid announced that they had reached an agreement with Atalanta for the transfer of Lookman. He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club the following day.

Lookman is a versatile winger with a dynamic style of play

He is known for his direct, pacey runs at the opposition defence, causing problems with his quick feet and close control. He has a keen eye for goal and is able to finish chances with both feet, as well as with his head. Lookman is a creative player, who can unlock defences with his clever passing and clever movement off the ball. Lookman thrives in tight spaces and excels at taking on defenders using feints, quick touches, and body movement. He can burst past opponents from a standing start, making him a constant threat on the counterattack or when isolated on the wing. While naturally a left winger, Lookman can play on either flank, as a second striker, or in a central attacking midfield role.
