Until recently, the Copa Africa was the beginning of every year. However, FIFA has rightly decided that it is preferable to have a summer so that the international teams do not leave the season and leave their teams.
Copa Africa, for the first time, welcomes the 24 “gladiators” (and not 16 as usual) to claim the tremendous trophy. Initially, this year’s Copa África was assigned to Cameroon, which had won the previous title (2017) in the final against Egypt.
However, the long delays in the projects and the general preparation eventually led the African Confederation to take the decision and transfer the organization to Egypt. So the “Pharaohs” are the ones who will host the races on six stadiums in four different cities.
The capital of Egypt, Cairo will host most of the matches in three stadiums, the Cairo International Stadium, the “June 30” Stadium and the Al Salam Stadium. The fourth stadium of the event is Alexandria in the homonymous city and the other two are the Suez Stadium (in the city of Suez) and the Ismael Stadium (in the city of Ismailia).
Egypt is the group with the most conquests 7 the number. It follows 5 Cameroon and then Ghana 4

The favorites to win the trophy are about the same again. The hostess of Egypt that has the superstar Mohamed Salah. Senegal with Mane (Liverpool) and Kulibaly (Napoli), Ghana with Quando Asamoa (Inter). Morocco with Ajax Ace, Hakim Zijech who had a fantastic season in the UEFA Champions League.
While they will definitely play an important role: Algeria with Manchester City striker, Riyadh Mahrez. Côte d’Ivoire is betting a lot to Nicolas Pepe, a fast midfielder who has had a great season with Lille (22 goals, 11 assists) and Crystal Palace’s striker, Wilfried Zaha, who is again reeling several strong Premier League teams …
And of course as usual in big competitions we always have or almost always have the surprises …
