We met in Baku and after Istanbul and as always was sweet and comfortable. Our discussion in the City made sense to turn around Liverpool this year’s UEFA Champions League winner and then the Super Cup:
“Liverpool will again be one of the main contenders for the new Champions League. It has a wonderful set, some amazing units like Mane, Salah, Van Dijk, Firminio and its goalkeeper, Alisson Becker. Of course, due to his injury, he will miss some games at the start of this big event. But at least for the group phase, Klopp’s team will not have much difficulty”.
DF: Since we were talking about the Champions League, what other teams are capable of leading if you see any surprises?
R/: “The same teams. Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real. Bayern from Germany. And Juventus from Italy, which in the last two years we have seen that it is spending a lot of money and strengthening its team as much as possible. “
DF: What can Chelsea do with new coach Lampard?
“The presence of Frank Lampard, who was also a football player, is an important thing for the team, which due to a ban on transfers cannot take others. So she has to put a lot of emphasis on her young players, and she has a lot of them and they are also very talented … “
Smith: Chelsea are expecting a lot of young people
DF: So are we talking about centre-forward Abraham and midfielder, Mount?
R/: “Of course, I refer to these two primarily. These kids have the will, the talent, and now they can evolve next to Lampard for the benefit of both themselves and the club. “
DF: Will, there be any new surprises in the Premier League?
R/: “I don’t think there will be any team-surprise at least at the championship level. Manchester City will clash again with Liverpool with Guardiola’s team again having a slight lead. This is due to the fact that he has plenty of substitutes in some positions and is equal to the basics, unlike the “reds” who again rely on 13-14 players …
DF: Arsenal the team you made a great career for, what can it accomplish?
-R/: “The transfer period has definitely been better than in previous years. He got the Spanish Ceballos who has many qualifications and technical virtues and surely Ozil’s position is in danger. The French extreme striker Pepe has a lot of elements but wants time to adapt to his new environment. Kieran Tierney is a very good left-back who will help him as soon as he gets into the spirit of his new team and of course, he expects a lot from Brazilian central defender David Luiz … He will certainly claim a place in the squad to appear next .. »
